LIGHT RESTORE

Typical work includes:
Minor fading, color shift, contrast loss, and light surface marks.
What’s involved:
Level 1 restorations focus on overall cleanup and tonal correction. This includes balancing exposure and contrast, correcting color cast or yellowing, and removing small dust marks or blemishes while preserving the original look of the photograph.
Best suited for photos that are structurally intact but have aged visually over time.

MODERATE

Typical work includes:
Noticeable fading, scratches, discoloration, and localized damage.
What’s involved:
Level 2 restorations require targeted repair work in addition to global corrections. This may include repairing scratches and creases, stabilizing facial features, improving clarity, and reconstructing small missing areas while maintaining natural texture and detail.
These images require more hands-on intervention but still retain most of their original information.

ADVANCED

Typical work includes:
Severe damage, heavy wear, missing sections, extensive fading, or heavy staining.
What’s involved:
Advanced restorations involve detailed reconstruction work. This can include rebuilding missing portions of faces, clothing, or backgrounds, correcting major tonal imbalance, and carefully restoring detail from limited source information.
Each image is handled individually, with close attention to continuity, proportion, and historical accuracy.

COMPLEX

Typical work includes:
Significant physical damage, large missing areas, torn or cut photographs, or heavily degraded originals.
What’s involved:
Level 4 restorations are the most time-intensive and require meticulous reconstruction and refinement. Work may involve rebuilding substantial portions of the image, repairing severe structural damage, and carefully re-establishing balance across the entire photograph.
These restorations often involve photographs of high emotional or historical value and are approached with exceptional care and restraint.

CUSTOM WORK

Every photograph is evaluated individually. Difficulty levels are guidelines based on condition, not age or subject.
